Alessandro is a PhD student working between the department of Agricultural Economics and Rural Policy (AEP) and Wageningen Economic Research (WeCR). His primary focus lies in the macroeconomic transition towards sustainable food systems and beyond, investigating policies on food loss and waste, dietary shifts, and the circular and bio-based economy. He works with the global computable general equilibrium (CGE) model MAGNET (www.magnet-model.eu) supervised by Prof. Hans van Meijl and Dr. Marijke Kuiper. He is an active member of the Global Trade Analysis Project (GTAP) community, contributing to the development of satellite global databases on nutrition and food loss and waste.
