Anke de Vrieze (1981) studied Social and Cultural Anthropology at the University of Amsterdam. In addition, she took professional training in bio-dynamic farming. From 2010 till mid 2015, she worked as an independent researcher and project coordinator on different projects related to urban agriculture and urban food strategies. Currently, she works as assistant-coordinator of SUSPLACE at the Rural Sociology Group.

Her interests are in sustainable place-shaping, food, urban agriculture and urban-rural linkages.
