PhD Candidate

I'm currently a PhD candidate at Wageningen University and part of the Global comparative study on REDD + project, led by the Center of International Forestry Research (CIFOR). My research focuses on assessing the role of (sub-)tropical forest carbon sinks in climate change mitigation by combining forest plot data with remotely sensed products. In this respect, I'm interested in estimating aboveground biomass change rates in tropical and subtropical forests at different forest successional stages, and understanding which anthropogenic drivers affect the carbon sink potential of younger forests and at what magnitude.

I have a BSc degree in Forestry Sciences from Universidad Nacional Agraria la Molina (Peru) and an MSc in Biodiversity Conservation & Management from the University of Oxford (UK).
