Advisor Governance & Rural Livelihoods

Dieuwke Klaver is a socio-economist with over 25 years of international experience in natural resource and agricultural sector governance; institutional and societal change; gender, social inclusion and rural livelihoods. She has worked as action researcher, evaluator, advisor, trainer, process facilitator and programme leader. Most of her working experiences are in Africa.

At present, Dieuwke is employed as a senior advisor at Wageningen Centre for Development Innovation, where she currently spends most of her time in transforming conflicts and improving water governance in the transboundary Water4Virungas programme in Congo-Kinshasa, Uganda and Rwanda; in conducting qualitative evaluations for a wide range of organisations regarding lobby&advocacy interventions for economic justice; in carrying out scoping studies of agricultural sectors (mango, oil palm, etc), with a particular emphasis on social dimensions such as land tenure security, gender and youth, food and nutrition security, etc.
