I currently work as an agroecologist at Wageningen University & Research, within the research institute Field Crops. I combine skills and knowledge of landscape analysis and design with ecology and agronomy. With my colleagues in the team Farming Systems Research (20-25 people) I design, evaluate and analyse regenerative and resilient cropping systems. We do this via participatory, applied research with farmers and many other stakeholders. Within the scope of agroecology, I focus on research and innovation projects on diversified cropping systems (intercropping, strip cropping, agroforestry).

I specialize in studying the effects of crop diversity (strip cropping) on farmland biodiversity, working as a PhD candidate at the Farming Systems Ecology group at Wageningen University & Research. Within this project, I work on studying the effects of large scale, organic strip cropping on the abundance and diversity of arable flora and fauna (insects & birds).
