dr. G (Giulia) Bazzan PhD

Postdoctoral Researcher

Giulia Bazzan obtained a bachelors in political science and a masters in communication at the University of Padova, before completing her PhD (cum laude) at the University of Milano (July 2019). Her thesis focused on effectiveness of governance of food safety regulation, aiming at understanding under which institutional conditions food regulation is effective.

She currently works as Postdoctoral researcher for the EFFECT project at the Public Administration and Policy group at WUR, engaging in research on the question of how to foster successful agri-environmental governance arrangements.

During her PhD she gained valuable methodological skills in set-theoretic methods and Qualitative Comparative Analysis (QCA), as well as in comparative case-study analysis.

Her research topics of interests include food policy, agri-environmental governance, policy design and institutional theories.
