KG (Kesso Gabrielle) van Zütphen MSc

Kesso Gabrielle van Zutphen-Küffer is a public health nutritionist and the Director of Science at the Sight and Life Foundation. With a foundation in human nutrition, public health, and public policy, she leads the development of evidence-based strategies targeting adolescent nutrition and malnutrition. As a PhD candidate in global human nutrition at Wageningen University & Research, Kesso is investigating the effects of multiple micronutrient supplementation on iron stores in adolescent girls in Malawi, and is examining the role heavy menstrual blood loss plays in anemia. At Sight and Life, she manages the knowledge generation department, ensuring the creation of sustainable business models based on solid evidence. Kesso recently spearheaded the expansion of the foundation's focus in Switzerland to emphasize adolescent nutrition, precision nutrition, and alternative protein sources. Currently residing in Switzerland, Kesso collaborates with ETH Zurich and the Training & Research Unit of Excellence in Malawi for her PhD research.

Prior to that, she led the M&E program of a multi-sectoral nutrition campaign in Malaysia along with DSM, GAIN, World Vision and the Asian Football Confederation and was Manager of Operations of the Society for Implementation Science in Nutrition where she co-led the secretariat. 

Kesso Gabrielle holds a bachelor's degree from Maastricht University, a master's from Edinburgh University and a Swiss Nutritional Therapy degree pursued in Geneva, Switzerland. She is fluent in French, English and Dutch and is based in Montreux, Switzerland.
