Merije van Rookhuijzen is a PhD candidate at the Consumption and Healthy Lifestyles Group, focussing on the public health impact of nudges regarding healthy eating behaviour. In her research, she tries to gain insight into the long-term effectiveness of nudges through the formation of long-lasting healthy eating habits.

Her research is part of the Health Improvement Through Nudging Techniques (HINTS) research programme: a collaboration between Wageningen University and Utrecht University which examines the ethics, working mechanisms, and real-life effectiveness of nudges as a promising and innovative approach to public health.
