Negin Salimi is an Assistant Professor in Innovation Management and Sustainable Entrepreneurship at the Business Management and Organization group of Wageningen University and Research. She obtained her Ph.D. in Innovation Management from Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e), the Netherlands.

Before joining WUR, she was a postdoctoral researcher at the section Economics of Technology and Innovations, faculty of Technology, Policy, and Management, TU Delft and also at Science-Based Business (SBB) group, Science faculty, Leiden University.

She has been working on different areas such as Sustainable Entrepreneurship, Circular Economy and Sustainability, Technology and Innovation Management, and decision-making using different quantitative methodologies (e.g. advanced statistical methods). In particular, she is interested in how an enterprise can make the whole process of entrepreneurship sustainable which means how the sustainability concept integrates into the different entrepreneurship process including recognition, development, exploitation of opportunities to provide goods or services that meet economic, social and environmental dimensions. This can be started from the idea generation and opportunity recognition by an entrepreneur (micro-level) and be reflected in sustainable development (macro-level).

Study of sustainable entrepreneurship in micro and macro level necessitates being master in both micro-level analysis (e.g. decision support tools), and macro-level analysis (e.g. statistical methods). She is promoting using these methods in the field of sustainable entrepreneurship as well.

She has published in several peer-reviewed journals of technology and innovation management such as International Journal of Production Economics, Journal of Technology Transfer, Science and Public Policy, Scientometrics, Technovation, and IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management.

She is teaching several entrepreneurship courses and supervising Bachelor, Master and PhD students.
