Teacher / Teacher Trainer

After having grown up in Liberia and Indonesia, and having to leave Liberia due to a civil war, I knew from a young age that I wanted to know more about the root causes of hunger, poverty, and civil unrest. To quench my curiosity, and to learn more about economic sustainability, I studied development economics at Wageningen University, during which period I had enjoyed my first experiences in teaching as a student assistant.

I currently work as a subject teacher and teacher trainer for economics with the Education and Learning Sciences department at Wageningen University. Within the educational minor, I work in a team of educational, psychological, and subject professionals to train and guide students in their development towards becoming a teacher. Next to my work as a teacher trainer, I also work as a teacher of economics within the IB diploma program at Rivers International School in Arnhem.

Before becoming a teacher, I worked as an international business consultant and agricultural development specialist for a number of international development agencies, with a speciality in market-driven development innovations and in public policy research.
