Selçuk is a doctoral researcher and teaching assistant in the Soil Geography and Landscape group and member of the NWO project, Badlands in a Temperate Mediterranean environment, at Wageningen University. Selçuk is a geologist, who completed his MSc in earth sciences/geology (with a focus on tectonic geomorphology) at ETH Zürich working on earthquake and glacier-retreat driven Alpine palaeo-landsliding with a case study, the Sennwald landslide. He is currently working on sediment transfer dynamics within the context of climate change and extensional tectonics on the past 20 Myr to examine the development of badlands in a Mediterranean setting.
