In order to understand biological mechanisms the interplay between proteins as well as the influence of proteins on the physiological condition of biological systems is of great importance. For this, advanced instrumental methodology is needed.
New technological developments for proteomics and metabolomics studies are created within our group and tested as well on selected biological problems. These biological systems are often human nutrition related subjects, as for instance the influence of food components on the mechanistic function of the estrogen receptor, on the influence of food components on the changes in human lipoprotein and plasma composition or on the differences in nutritional content of important crops (broccoli, melon, rice). However, also model plant systems are studied in order to understand effects of intracellular hormone on cell-elongation, or the effect of protein-protein interaction in cell-division.
