On 19 September, Human and Animal Physiology (HAP) celebrated the opening of the new human physiology laboratory. We have a long tradition of research into metabolism of humans and the new facility features new and renewed equipment to assess energy metabolism in humans, in a non-invasive matter. The current location (Zodiac) facilitates more in depth mechanistical research due to close proximity the molecular physiology laboratory in the same building. The official opening was preceded by a mini symposium: “Challenging energy metabolism, from cell to human”, where we highlighted our research, followed by mini-demonstrations in the new laboratory, together with drinks and bites.
