Annemiek Hermans on the effects of electromagnetic fields on elasmobranchs

More and more subterranean power cables are appearing in the North Sea. They transport energy generated by wind turbines from off shore to in shore. In doing so, they emit electromagnetic fields which can impact animals such as sharks and rays. PhD candidate Annemiek Hermans studies these impacts in the field and in the lab.
