Host-Microbe Interactomics; finding new friends and combating enemies in the microbial world

Inaugural lecture of Prof. Jerry Wells

Organised by Host Microbe Interactomics

Thu 25 October 2012

“While some bacteria are notorious causes of infections many have a peaceful and largely symbiotic coexistence with their hosts. Recently, microbiota changes have been linked to pathophysiological changes in different chronic human diseases. The field of host-microbe interactions is a holistic approach to understanding these complex interactions and integration of this knowledge with that from other disciplines can identify new organisms contributing to health as well as strategies to tackle infectious and chronic diseases in domestic animals, wildlife and humans”
