Education of the Quantitative Veterinary Epidemiology Group
The Quantitative Veterinary Epidemiology group is involved in all three levels of education: BSc, MSc and PhD. It is possible to perform a thesis, research practice, or internship at our group.
MSc thesis and internship
At average 10-15 students annually perform their MSc thesis within the Quantitative Veterinary Epidemiology Group.

- Modelling the spatial-temporal distribution of Culex pipiens and Culex torrentium in the Netherlands
- Estimate the probability that low temperatures increase the probability of infection in susceptible animals
- A network meta-analysis comparing strategies to prevent and cure intramammary infections in dairy cattle
- Genetic selection of cattle against bovine tuberculosis in Ireland
- The epidemiology of Foot-and-Mouth Disease in North Cianjur, West Java, Indonesia

Global and Sustainable Production
Approaches to animal production that go beyond the individual animal level are becoming increasingly important. Solutions to problems in animal production can only be found by taking into account the many interrelationships between the production sector and the socio-economic environment.

Adaptation, Health and Behaviour
Animal health and behaviour are becoming increasingly important when talking about sustainability of animal production systems. This specialisation utilises a multidisciplinary, animal-level approach focusing on the effects of the animal’s environment on its health.
