Mapping the 2021 Limburg floods using Sentinel-1 radar

The cloud-penetrating capabilities of ESA’s Sentinel-1 radar, a high spatial detail of 10 m and images being available every other day allowed us to map the dynamics of the 2021 Limburg floods in high spatial and temporal detail. The Dutch company Nelen & Schuurmans used our maps in combination with land use information to analyse the economic impact of the floods. Read more in the NRC newspaper article (in Dutch).
