Validation of Agent-based Land Use Models

Introduction

Agent-based  models are increasingly being developed and used for modelling land-use dynamics. Within these models human actors and their behaviour play an important role. The validation of agent-based land use models is generally considered as important and problematic.

In this half-day workshop four speakers will present in 20-25 minutes their view on agent-based land use models and associated challenges and possibilities for validation. Each presentation is followed by a discussion of about 20-25 minutes. Active participation of the workshop participants is highly encouraged.
