Hugo de Vries Award 2015 for Colin Khoury

On April 11, 2016, Colin Khoury received the Hugo de Vries Award 2015 for his PhD thesis entitled “The conservation and use of crop genetic resources for food security”. Colin was supervised by Paul Struik of CSA and Andy Jarvis of CIAT.

The award ceremony took place during the very well attended Annual Meeting of the Graduate School “Experimental Plant Sciences”, in Lunteren, in front of an audience of 450 plant scientists. At the occasion Colin also gave a lecture on the topic of his thesis.

The Hugo de Vries award is a yearly award for the best botany-related PhD thesis, defended at any university in the Netherlands. An earlier laureate from CSA was Jochem Evers who received the 2006 award.
