Beneficial insects poisoned via neonicotinoids in honeydew

Researchers found a new route where neonicotinoids can also be harmful to beneficial insects: via honeydew. It was already known that this group of insecticides could end up in bees via nectar and pollen. But that only happens when crops bloom, while honeydew is available all year round.
