Position 1: Assistant Professor in Environmental Globalisation

Do you want to develop into an internationally recognised scholar in the field of environmental globalisation? We are looking an early career scholar with a PhD and a demonstrated interest in how global trade, investment and international relations affect environmental policies and practices relating to natural resources, climate and/or urban environments. Your research will take a comparative empirical approach to understanding how these policies and practices contribute to different modes of ‘environmental globalisation’ in both the global North and South, preferably with a focus on China, Europe and the United States. We are looking for a new colleague to contribute to an established team of scholars researching and teaching on the governance of sustainable coastal environments. Your research will contribute to resilient coastal communities and industries under conditions of environmental globalisation. In particular you will contribute to better understanding the challenges and solutions related to globally embedded economic activities – e.g. tourism, energy production, food production, coastal infrastructure or urban development - on the vulnerability and adaptation of coastal regions.
