MSc thesis: What are models, rationalities, and values behind food aid in Europe?

Background information

You are probably familiar with food banks handing out food parcels to people who are food insecure. Yet, there are many more forms of food aid for people who experience food insecurity, e.g. social supermarkets, community kitchens, community gardens. Within a larger PhD project about the dignity of food aid receivers in Europe, we are looking for a master thesis student who would like to compare various forms of  food aid, e.g. logics of charity, consumption, capability, community and social change, with the aim of better understanding the organizational models, rationalities, and values behind them. The research will be conducted through a literature study, online research and interviews with organizers of different food aid initiatives. Based on the results of this master thesis we would like to write an scientific article.
