Thesis subject

Relationality in Regenerative Agriculture

This thesis topic is for students interested in regenerative agriculture, preferably in Europe or Latin America. How do farmers become motivated for growing food in different ways? How do they engage with soils, seeds, water scarcity, tools, the biophysical environment, etc.? The theoretical focus is on relational approaches (especially, affect theory). What are farmers’ lived experiences? What emotional relations emerge between farmers and ‘consumers’ or farmers and their farms?

Methodologically, the thesis takes a qualitative approach in the form of participant observations and/or interviews. Desk research is also possible (discourse/narrative analysis, etc.).

What kind of student: Preferably a Master student, but there are also possibilities for Bachelor students.
