The Sustainability Consortium (TSC) will organize their (online) yearly summit from 10 to 13 May. This year’s theme is “The Future of Resilient Supply Chains”. As part of this summit, Wageningen University & Research will organise an “EU Sustainable Policy Developments” session on Wednesday 12 May, from 15.00 to 16.00 (Dutch time).

Henk Westhoek of DG Sante will update us about the recent policy developments in Brussels around sustainability during the first half of this session. As part of the Green Deal and the Farm to Fork policies, many ambitious proposals have been launched. These proposals are currently being translated into obligatory and voluntary policies. Westhoek will share the latest developments surrounding this process.

The second half of the session will be dedicated to the implementation of TSC tools in Europe. Julia Chiu, Senior Manager Sustainability of Walgreens Boots Alliance will explain how Boots, one of the largest retailers of the United Kingdom, is implementing TSC’s THESIS tool in their supply chains. Afterwards Koen Boone, researcher of Wageningen Economic Research and TSC’s Director Europe, will summarize the results of other implementation projects around Europe.

Participation is free of charge, but registration is required. Note that all sessions on Tuesday are available for free as well.
