Rainfall monitoring through mobile technology in Sri Lanka

In 2019, microwave link data from Sri Lanka have been employed to obtain rainfall maps, allowing us to visualize showers with a much higher spatial resolution than satellites (see the video). This pilot study has been carried out in cooperation with GSMA and the Royal Netherlands Meteorological Institute.
