Edwin Foekema and Jan van Franeker on regional television (Omrop Fryslân) about plastic pellets in the Wadden sea

Scientists of Wageningen Marine Research in Den Helder are preparing experiments to mimic the Waddensea ecosystem. They are preparing saltwater basins with sandy sediment in which marine organisms may develop as in the natural system. Different concentrations of small plastic polystyrene spherules as lost by ZOE will be added for controlled measurements of the effects.
