North Sea plastics on Belgian television

The Belgian television broadcasted a short documentary ‘Noordzee vol Plastic’. The problems of plastics in the marine environment are shown, for animals from mussels to whales.

Belgian partners in the monitoring study of marine litter in the stomachs of Northern Fulmars, demonstrate a bird autopsy and the opening of the stomach.

The fulmar dissection by Eric Stienen and Hilbran Verstraete of the Belgian Research Institute for Nature and Forest (INBO) starts at 03:10 minutes; a short section on the human sized example of stomach contents follows at c. 8:35 minutes.
