Suse Kühn, student from Van Hall Larenstein at IMARES, has completed an investigation of plastics in stomachs of Northern Fulmars from Iceland. Results substantiate a pattern in which floating debris in the North Atlantic decreases with distance from major industrial population centres. This means that in the southern North Sea a high level of input of marine debris persists.
