Diversification of arable cropping systems for reduced pesticide dependence

In this project the student will study the possible diversification of arable cropping systems options in time and the potential effect on diseases, insects or weeds.

The goal is to reduce the dependency of fungicides, insecticides and herbicides. Depending on the time of year, the activities will be focused on either field experimental work (summer period) or theory building, economic perspectives of diverse systems and data analysis (winter period). The activities and topic will be determined in detail together with the student, depending on the students interest, and background.
