Sixty mathematicians solve puzzles submitted by companies

How do you weigh turkeys without lifting them? How do you control traffic in the city of the future? These were two of the challenges that mathematicians faced in Wageningen last week as part of the Study Group Mathematics with Industry.

Wageningen mathematicians hosted this year's edition of the study group. Six companies from different industries submitted their problems, and the participants were given one week to work on them. They started on Monday 28 January and presented their results to company representatives on Friday 1 February.
