Genebank collections of Dutch cattle breeds
CGN manages collections of semen of all Dutch cattle breeds. Genetic material of almost all (rare) cattle breeds of Dutch origin has been included in the collection and 'snapshots' of new testing bulls of animal breeding organizations are being conserved.
In the genebank database it is possible to search cattle breeds yourself.
In the period 1995 to 2002, the collection was extended with semen (and some embryos) of Friesian Red cattle. In 2007-2008 embryos of Deep Red Cattle were put into the gene bank.
