Did you already notice? The website of the Laboratory of Microbiology (MIB) got a new look! This overhaul, both in layout and structure, was accompanied by the introduction of a new logo. Don’t hesitate to have a look around!

New year, new look

Since the start of the lockdown in March 2020, a group of MIB-employees has been working on the new website. It now also features the fourth research group within Microbiology (Microbial Evolution), introduced by chair holder Prof. Thijs Ettema in 2019. The editors also aimed to link the website more prominently to the vibrant MIB Twitter-account. As WUR also switched to a new house style at the beginning of 2021, the new website definitely got a fresh look.

A new logo for MIB

Additionally, the new website comes with a new logo, which was designed by Sanne Elisabeth. The logo shows a globe, filled with a phylogenetic tree. The colors were chosen to match perfectly with the WUR house style. Sanne also wrote a blog about her design process: How did she combine science with design and how did she simplify the complexity of Microbiology?

The new website is a co-production of the website working group within MIB and the Corporate Communications & Marketing of WUR
