The world is rapidly changing and is moving from a linear economy of make-use-dispose to a more sustainable circular one. In this new world, it’s critical to determine if alternative (biobased) resources have the potential to become truly sustainable and economically-viable sources for materials and energy, as well as food production. A company that wants to succeed in this industry must be prepared for the challenges and opportunities ahead.

In the online MicroMasters Business and Economics for a Circular Economy, which consists of three MOOCs and a Capstone project, you prepare yourself and your company to make the switch and implementation from fossil to renewable, biobased resources. This programme focusses on the business and economics side of the transition.

After completion (and earning a Verified Certificate) of all the MOOCs of the programme you earn a MicroMasters credential that equals 18 ECTS, which you can use for the on-campus Master of Science Biobased Sciences (which normally is a '120 ECTS, 2 year fulltime on-campus programme').

Interested? The first MOOC of the programme; Circular Economy: An Interdisciplinary Approach, is open for registration and starts at 4 December 2018.
