Bioenergy is generated by burning or fermenting biomass, preferably after any valuable components have been extracted and used in food, animal feed, biobased chemicals and/or materials. Wageningen University & Research has carried out research into bioenergy for decades.

We do not only apply our know-how and experience to specific bioenergy projects, but also to the deployment of biomass in other sectors. We even have models that can help businesses and government agencies make their bioenergy projects economically viable.
