Soil life is immensely diverse, covering all aspects from microbes, such as bacteria, fungi and protists to animals such as nematodes, microarthropods, earthworms, ants and small mammals.

Therefore, studies covering soil biodiversity often focuses on distinct groups of soil life. With a huge international team of experts covering all soil biodiversity groups we tried to improve the bias for future researchers by providing a comprehensive overview of soil biodiversity including methods to study them. We hope to engage future researchers to work together to better understand the complexity of life in soil.
