A series of cases on data management practices has been started on the Open Science blog. The first blog on these WUR Data Champions describes the data archiving practice of the Plant Developmental Systems group.

Wageningen University & Research has established new guidelines on research data. The guidelines outline how research data should be stored, archived, and registered in WUR’s output system.

The Plant Developmental Systems group stores data and information from experiments in a physical lab journal. In the past, larger data sets were then transferred to and stored separately on a PC or personal external disks. Now Plant Development Systems stores all their data according to WUR’s new guidelines. This blogpost describes how the group now has a data storage practice that meets the new regulations.
