Berlin speakers

Viktoriia Radchuk

Viktoriia Radchuk is a quantitative ecologist interested in how wildlife responds to changing environments. To assess biological responses to global change she uses advanced statistical tools and simulation models, with the ultimate goal of providing conservation advice for mitigating possible negative impacts. She is a senior scientist at the Leibniz Institute for Zoo and Wildlife Research (IZW, Berlin).

After obtaining her MSc in Environmental Sciences from Wageningen University in 2008 (MATRA Scholarship for Eastern-European countries) she was granted a PhD fellowhip from FRIA at Universite Catholique de Louvain (Belgium). Her PhD Thesis focused on population viability of two butterfly species under climate change. In her subsequent post-doc fellowships at Hedmark University College (Norway) and iDiv (German Centre for Integrative biodiversity Research, Leipzig) she broadened the focus from single species to multi-species, community perspectives.
