4TU|Alumni Event - Paris, France
As an alumnus/alumna of Wageningen University & Research (WUR), we hereby invite you to a 4TU alumni event in Paris on Wednesday 20 March 2024. We hope to see you there!
On Wednesday March 20, the first 4TU|Alumni network event of 2024 in Paris took place.
The event was hosted at the Embassy of the Netherlands in Paris,
providing alumni with the chance to meet fellow alumni not only from Wageningen
University & Research, but also from TU Delft, University of Twente and TU
Eindhoven. With over 1000 4TU graduates living in the Paris region, there was a great cross selection of participants from different companies,
sectors and roles! Of course the alumni also heard updates from their Alma Mater
and special activities during the event maximized their networking
opportunities, connecting them to like-minded individuals in the Paris area.
About the event
During this special gathering, innovative alumni researchers updated guests on
their current work and ambitions for the future. Also joining were a group
of startups linked to the 4TU universities, including the founders of Ore
Energy, Scope Biosciences, Insectsense, Flux Robotics, X-Mem & Recarbon.
These young entrepreneurs were in Paris for the ‘Hello Tomorrow’ Global
Summit and were excited to talk to local alumni about their companies during a
special ‘startup market’.

Mireia Leon
I am Mireia Leon, an aerospace engineer passionate about space exploration. I completed my Master’s degree specializing in space flight at TU Delft in 2022. After this experience, I am continuing my formation as a PhD student at the Paris Observatory, working on surface analysis of Mercury in preparation for the BepiColombo mission. I stay involved with TU Delft through the work done on my MSc thesis on predicting the probability of collision between spacecraft and space debris. The start-up Ecosmic is currently in the process of commercializing this work in the space sector. Hopefully, this will contribute to keeping a clean and safe environment for the growing population of satellites orbiting the Earth.
