About goats and single teenage mothers in Uganda
More than 2000 teenage mothers were supported in a complex intervention, focusing on return to school, income generation (including goats), counselling, raising community awareness, and media and advocacy. We used Intervention Mapping, a systematic approach to design evidence- and theory based health promotion interventions. The design of the intervention was less linear than we have documented it afterwards. At this moment I am exploring ways to integrate a systematic and theory-based approach with the actual processes that take place in intervention design.
