Co-creating sustainability science for impact: Integration of transdisciplinarity in research and education

Inter- and transdisciplinary research is increasingly needed to understand and act on the environmental and societal challenges. However, too often the skills, challenges and learnings are not shared beyond the project. This interactive conference provides an opportunity to better understand what is happening in Wageningen University & Research, who is working on what, and what the possibilities of integrating transdisciplinarity to further societal and scientific impact.

Participation is free, but registration is required.

What: 

An interactive morning conference preceding the Wageningen Integration For Impact (WIFI) - WUR (12:00 June 13th- June 14th) on furthering inter- and transdisciplinary research and education at WUR.  

Interdisciplinary: research and education that integrates knowledge across scientific disciplines to address complex societal and sustainability challenges 

Transdisciplinary: interdisciplinary research and education that works with societal actors (NGOs, government, businesses, citizens) and incorporates their perspectives and knowledge in the design, implementation, and/or assessment to improve scientific and societal impact.

Why should you come? 

  • You research, teach, publish or work in inter- transdisciplinary team or are interested in doing so.  
  • You want to engage with others working on inter- and transdisciplinary research and education 
  • You want to bring transdisciplinary knowledge exchange further in your work 
  • You want to contribute to inter- and transdisciplinary projects (e.g. INREF PhD programme, transdisciplinary knowledge hub, inter- and transdisciplinary research projects)
