Doorwerth Castle 21 and 25 July, guided tours

The castle of Doorwerth is a must-see at about a 45-min bike ride from Wageningen. The rich history of Doorwerth castle, of more than seven centuries, boasts glorious periods as well as darker ones. We will meet at the castle and first enjoy a guided tour through the vegetable gardens. Afterwards, you can visit the castle (in small groups) with a paper tour guide in English or Dutch.

All activities are group activities. You are most welcome to join solo as well as with a friend or housemate

What to expect?

The vegetable gardens have been restored to its former glory with the crops that used to be grown to feed the inhabitants of the castle and their many guests. The guide shows us the unique heirloom vegetables, herbs, small fruit and flowers in the garden en explains how they were grown and used. 
 
We will meet at the castle and first enjoy a guided tour through the vegetable gardens. Afterwards, you can visit the castle (in small groups) with a paper tour guide in English or Dutch. Student Training & Support will cover the costs for the guided tour and entrance ticket to the castle. You need to register to have a ticket!

The castle has a cozy café with terrace, so you can sit down with the group and have a drink and pastry or snack and enjoy each other company.

Costs

The costs of the tour and visit to the castle will be provided for.
Drinks and snacks in teh acfé are at your own expense.

How to get there?

It takes about 45 minutes by bike. For those who want to go to Doorwerth by bike as a group we can arrange departure time and a meeting point from where to start.
