“My paintings are about the condition and state of human being. I have been trying to reveal the most essential being underneath various surface looks,
which I believe is ultimately the solitaire and detachment. That is why I have limited to one figure in one painting in the past few years.”
“As for painting technique, I was educated and trained the Western painting however I usually leave a distinctive track of my stroke work, taking some methods from the Chinese ink stroke concept which believes brushwork - and - ink in its own right has an independent aesthetic value, and the painter’s pleasure very much lies in the movement of the paints and brush.”
