Land-Water-Food Nexus: Towards sustainable food production in China & other regions

The symposium is organised in the framework of the large-scale research programme on 'Sustainable Natural Resource Management for Adequate and Safe Food Provision (SURE+)', which aims to establish a sustainable Virtual Centre of Expertise of leading international researchers on the food-water-land nexus. It is financed by the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW) and the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST), China.

  1. to exchange knowledge on and discuss recent developments in research on the food-water-land nexus, with a special emphasis on China as a key player in global food security;
  2. to strengthen cooperation between social and natural scientists in research on the governance of natural resources and environmental management of food systems.
