Liberty Speech ‘Freedom from want’ by UAF-director Mardjan Seighali

On the 21st of September, Mardjan Seighali will give a liberty speech on the International Day Of Peace. She will inspire her audience by telling personal stories about fortune seekers and freedom, in countries such as the Netherlands, the United States and her country of origin, Iran.

What is the UAF?

Since 1948 the Foundation for Refugee Students (UAF) supports and counsels highly skilled refugees in the Netherlands. We help them with their study and finding suitable employment. Many refugees have studied, and often received a diploma, in their country of origin.

Biography Mardjan Seighali

Mardjan Seighali is the CEO of the Foundation for Refugee Students UAF. She grew up in Iran. In 1990, she fled for the Iranian regime, together with her two children. Her husband already went ahead of her, uncertain of his life. Mardjan ended up in the Netherlands, together with the rest of her family. That is where freedom came her way. During the nineties, Mardjan was a student of the same foundation she is now the CEO of.
