A prototype nanostructured imaging surface plasmon resonance biosensor was tested and further developed with a focus on surface modification and detailed characterization of the biosensor chip. As a model system and highly relevant application, the in-field and at-line detection of multiple mycotoxins in the food chain using the prototype instrument is demonstrated.
