The exhibition shows that even a country as Tanzania has a lot of cultural diversity. The photographs themselves provide the opportunity to actually get to know these persons and make you curious about their lives. Pictures themselves are a powerful medium as they mainly show “visual stories” and can be interpreted by a variety of perspectives and explanations.

Like to know more about the artists? Margriet works at the "Betasteunpunt Wageningen". Visit Margriet van Vianen's website.

During the One World Week we also have an exhibition of Art Pieces in the Impulse building. The Art Pieces are from Estate Quadenoord. The Art Pieces come from the organization African Art Promotion. African Art Promotion was established in 1998 and aims to promote the visual arts in Zimbabwe. African Art Promotion organises workshops and sales of stone sculptures from Zimbabwe and in particular from Tengenenge. Every year African Art Promotion organizes workshops in serpentine stone sculpture at the estate Quadenoord in Renkum. The sculpture workshops are taught by experienced Zimbabwean sculptors. Sculptures for sale are from established names as Bernard Matemera and Josiah Manzi, but also images of various unknown artists.
