Working on the railroad for a dollar a day - in short Railroad – is a country-blues band that plays traditional American songs. These days the music style is mostly described as Americana. The three musicians have been regularly playing together for over a decade.

The lead singer and guitarpicker is Jitze Kopinga who has his roots in the Dutch folkscene. Multi-instrumentalist Laurens van der Zee plays the bass and – off topic – occasionally flute. The former Wageningen city poet has his roots in a wide variety of music styles. Finally the blues harp and backing vocals are done by Simon Vink, aka Blue Sparrow.  He has been playing the blues since his  childhood the New Orleans of the Netherlands, Rotterdam.
