Science & Art, a joint attempt to save the Banana

Bananas are the world´s most popular fruit and they are under attack. A deadly fungus threatens the global banana production. This situation not only affects the banana industry and many people are still unaware. On 8th February, the first edition of the Lunch-Lecture: science + art; featuring the fate of the banana. The event will bring together: Professor Gert Kema, head of the Banana Research group at Wageningen University and Stephan Brusche, better known as @isteef an artist that uses bananas as canvases for his art. Professor Kema will update us on the current situation of the disease, while Mr. Brusche will talk about his personal view on the problem and bananas as source of inspiration for his art. We will furthermore discuss the potential of social media to communicate science.
