The National Youth Jazz Orchestra
Super talented… The National Youth Jazz Orchestra (NJJO) is a big band of 20 musical top talents and is also known as the ‘Jong Oranje’ of jazz. The NJJO is composed once every two years from Dutch top talent, starting professionals up to 25 years old.
Varying musicians and leaders
And in addition to musicians, the orchestra’s leadership also changes. In 2021 and 2022, composer, bandleader and saxophonist Maarten Hogenhuis will be the artistic director and conductor of the Orchestra. The orchestra members go through a trajectory with musical coaching, workshops, tour and national and international collaborations so that they learn to find their way to a professional future. Come see and listen to this enthusiastic super talented group of young musicians!
