WIAS Symposium: Digestion kinetics in pigs

On October 3rd , the Animal Nutrition Group and Food Chemistry Group jointly organize a symposium on digestion kinetics in pigs. This is held on the occasion of the recent PhD defence of Bianca Martens, and the planned PhD defence of Rik van Erp.

Bianca has recently successfully defended her PhD thesis entitled "Starch digestion kinetics in pigs – the impact of starch structure, feed processing and digesta passage behaviour" and Rik will defend his thesis "Nutrient yield from starch in pigs: Consequences for energy balance and meal patterns" on October 4. During this seminar, both Rik and Bianca will summarize the highlights of their work. In addition, renowned speakers will present their work in this Seminar: Knud Erik Bach Knudsen, professor at Aarhus University, Denmark, Etienne Labussière, senior scientist at INRA, France, and Sonja de Vries, assistant professor at Wageningen University & Research.
